Hey there. It’s been a couple weeks since my last post. Sorry about that. GECtv has been busy right out of the gate in 2010.

As 2010 is now in full swing, I’d like to talk about and maybe to a lot of you reiterate what you’ve already heard about some easy things we can all do to save our planet and future generations!  As Confucius said,” the longest journey starts with the first step”. Well, I think he said that. Anyway, I think our first step is to focus on our homes or apartments. Look around at all the lighting you get from old style incandescent bulbs. Try unscrewing one of these bad boys after its been on for a while. You better have gloves on or a rag or something protecting your skin because if not, ouch. These bulbs get very hot. Where do you think that heat is going?  Read the rest of this entry »

By John Santicerma

  • Viral Video

In order for a video to have a chance at becoming viral it needs to possess most of the following ingredients: originality, be somewhat unusual, astonishing, funny, have the right timing and a large helping of  luck . Viral video is a function of solid distribution and promotion. With viral video, as the name suggests, the company’s intent is for the video to be spread “virally” by having it embedded in several different sites thereby reaching as wide an audience as possible.

  • Conversion Video

Video is a great way of making your site sticky. This means visitors stay on the site longer than usual. It goes without sayng that the longer a visitor stays on your site, the better chance you have of converting them or educating them.

  • Educational Video

Visitors to your site who move past the landing page and begin to delve deeper into your site are probably looking for more information. We know that video is an excellent medium for disseminating information and a curious visitors thirst for knowledge
can  be satisfied  from the contents of a well made educational  video.

Five Effective Uses for Your Sales/Marketing Video

6 01 2010

Compiled by John Santicerma

  • Email

Embed a link in that will allow customers to view your Sales/Marketing Video.

Providing your Marketing/Sales video as an attachment can allow your customers to easily forward your presentation to other co-workers or partners.

  • DVD

Some customers still want to see hard copy information. You can enhance your material significantly by including a Sales/Marketing Video on DVD.

  • Tradeshow Booth

Attract traffic and deliver a clear corporate message. Then, give the video on DVD as a handout.

  • Website

According to ComScore, video on the web is 600 times more effective than a static ad or text and 84% of the online population watched 10 hours of video in October, 2009.

  • Introductory Presentation Material

An excellent way to “warm-up” your audience and get them engaged.

Create Once, Publish Everywhere

By John Santicerma

Not a new concept but one that bears repeating. Recently we were asked to cover a demonstration type event for a client. Initially all we were asked to deliver was raw footage of the event and a couple interviews. It turned out to be a good case study for Create Once, Publish Everywhere because we were able to leverage the original production shoot to get the most of our client’s production budget. We created three “projects within the project” if you will. Out of one production shoot we were able to craft:

  • A Video News Release and within days, upload it to a file server in Switzerland where a news magazine program’s editor made a short clip for their local broadcast.
  • A hard copy multilingual DVD of the event and interviews, voiced in three languages, English, Spanish & German with a really creative DVD menu.
  • Encode and deploy the video project on YouTube, Google & Yahoo video

All of this came out of one production shoot. Create Once, Publish Everywhere we say!
